What is far infrared ray | Characteristics OF Far Infrared Ray

What is far infrared ray
Infrared ray is discovered by German scientist William Herschel during a scientific experiment, in which he analyzed the sunlight with spectrum and found that another invisible ray besides the visible beam of sunlight.
Its physical properties is very similar to that of visible light, and has significant heat radiation. Besides it is located at the peripheral of the visible red light, it is named infrared ray, which occupies 59% of the sunlight.

When any object is above the temperature of absolute zero (-273℃), it can release infrared light. Given different temperatures and compositions of the object, the wavelength of the released infrared ray is different as well. The avelength ranges from 0.75 to 1,000 micrometer, and that with shorter wavelength (0.75~1.5 micrometer) is called near infrared ray, that with medium wavelength (1.5~4 micrometer) is called medium infrared ray), and that with longer wavelength (4~1,000micrometer) is called far infrared ray. 90% of wavelength is 8~15mm.

Besides emitted from the sun, far infrared ray can also be emitted from natural minerals, such as Maifanshih, spar, granite, tourmaline, platinum colloid, serpentine, dolomite, wollastonite, and burned sandy soil, coke, and bamboo charcoal, which contain aluminum oxide, magnesium oxide, zirconium oxide, titania, silica, YO3, and other oxides. Researches concerning far infrared ray were focused on its physics, until 1970s, when it was applied to medical treatment and preventive medicine. Scientific studies proved that far infrared ray could promote cellular growth and activation in animal and plants. Therefore, scientists also call it “the light of birth”, “the light of health”, “universal energy”, “the light of life”, as well as “Chi energy” because it is close to the wavelength emitted by masters of Chi.
