What is far infrared ray | Characteristics OF Far Infrared Ray

Characteristics OF Far Infrared Ray
Far infrared ray is a type of electromagnetic wave within the range of light. Although it is invisible, our skin could sense its heating effect. Besides the characteristics of direction radiation, refraction, and reflection, it also has three other physical characteristics as explained below:

1.Radiation: Like other rays, far infrared ray has permeability, and it can conduct heat to other objects without air or other media. Its principle is the same as how sunlight radiates through the vacuum zone of the universe and reaches the earth. It can release energy within a certain distance and does not require direct contact with the skin.

2.Permeability:Its permeability is different from other rays as its light wave energy could reach 1mm hypodermically, and pass the heating effect to internal tissues and organ through medium conduction and blood circulation. It is estimated that it can reach 4~10cm hypodermically.

3.Absorption: (resonance):According to William Herschel’s radiation theorem, any good emitter is a good absorber. Under the same temperature, the bigger the emitter, the stronger the absorption. Any substance containing far infrared ray can emit far infrared ray and absorb it. Since human is an organic body and emitter of far infrared ray, the body is emitting far infrared ray all the time. When there is external light wave with different wavelength, they set off, and become smaller. On the other hand, when the wavelength is the same, it become larger. It is called resonance.
